King Donuts opened on Rainier Avenue South in 1987, founded by Chea Pol and Heng Hay, and grew into a neighborhood fixture that at one point combined doughnuts, a laundromat and a teriyaki counter under one roof. In 2017 Kim Sok, who had run doughnut shops in Los Angeles and Texas, bought the business with her sons Hong Chhuor and Travis Chhuor. The family dropped the laundry and teriyaki in 2021 to focus on doughnuts, and in 2022 moved seven blocks north into the former Beach Bakery space at 7820 Rainier Ave S. Hong Chhuor now runs the shop with his husband, head baker Razz Hass.
Open since 1987
Family-owned; run by Hong Chhuor and Razz Hass, part of the family that bought the shop in 2017.
