A tiny cash-only bakery beside the Newport Pier on the Balboa Peninsula, owned by the Eap family since 1985, when Kong Eap, a Cambodian immigrant who arrived in the late 1970s, bought the shop. He worked daily shifts for decades before passing it to his son Roger, who started learning the trade there at 14 and now runs the 24-hour operation.
