Pastry cook Carol Ha, a former Philadelphia Museum of Art security guard, began baking gluten-free donuts for friends and selling them via Instagram flash sales and pop-ups around 2012; with partner Bill Kelly she opened a permanent shop at 1439 Snyder Avenue in South Philadelphia in 2019 and invented the corn dog donut in 2022.
