Dough Joy was founded by Christopher Ballard and Sean Willis, launching in May 2021 as a food truck in Ballard that sold out on its first day. It opened a Capitol Hill storefront in late 2021, followed by West Seattle and Ballard shops. The Capitol Hill shop closed permanently on June 21, 2026, leaving West Seattle and Ballard.
