Donut Scout's notes
“I grew up 10 minutes from John's and have eaten literally dozens of their donuts over the years. I don't live in Ohio anymore, but when I'm back spending time with my dad, it's not unusual for me to get up early and drive to John's every single day. My absolute favorites are the maple frosted, cream-filled Long Johns. They just take me back to being a little kid when there was a donut shop in my actual hometown that was known for this particular donut.”

John Gregg started the shop in 1982 in a converted house trailer after learning donut-making at Tom's Donuts in Michigan, then built the current drive-thru shop at Bement and North Main. His son Jamie Gregg bought and renamed it John's Son's Donut Depot in 2006 and runs it with his wife Jacie, delivering nightly to stores across four northwest Ohio counties.
