Founded in 1948 by James 'Pappy' Williams and his wife Marie at the present Chestnut Street site in South Charleston. Robin Williams, a longtime employee unrelated to the founding family, bought the business in 1993 and still runs it with his wife Chris and their son, using the original recipes. The shop produces roughly 140-150 dozen 'hot dogs' a day and has said it will remain a single location.
