North Country Donuts was founded in Morrisville by Nicole Maddox and sold at the end of December 2024 to Dan Gwaltney, a former educator who moved to Vermont from North Carolina, and his wife Jessica. Under the Gwaltneys the shop makes everything in-house, and in 2026 added a second shop with a drive-through in a former Dunkin' space in Waterbury Center.
