Frank Katzenmeyer opened the Chester shop in 1950 and ran it for 23 years before selling to Ann Reed in 1973; the Reed family (Ann Reed, then daughter Margie Potts from 2013) owned it for nearly 50 years. Dominique Adkins, a former nurse, bought the bakery effective October 1, 2021, keeping the name, recipes and longtime bakers. The shop celebrated its 75th anniversary in June 2025.
