Founded in 1957 by Charles Shields and his son Richard on Route 5 in West Springfield. Richard's son Paul joined in the 1980s and now runs it with his daughter Katie Warren, the fourth generation. Earlier satellite shops in Springfield and East Longmeadow have closed.
