Phil Pomeroy opened Donut Nook in his hometown of Vancouver in 1976, drawing on a restaurant-management background, and has run it with his wife Susan for nearly five decades. The shop keeps its 1970s decor and hand-made approach, and shifted from a wholesale-heavy business to a retail-driven one. In 2021 Food & Wine named it the best place for doughnuts in Washington, and The Columbian reported a rush of customers the day the list came out.
Open since 1976
Owned by Phil and Susan Pomeroy; daughter Danielle manages (Vancouver Business Journal, June 2019; Vancouver Family Magazine, Dec 2025; The Columbian 2013 names Pomeroy as founder).
