The Ji family, Korean immigrants, opened the first Jarams Donuts near UT Dallas on Preston Road in 2012. Blair Ji, who studied architecture in New York, brought the idea of decorating donuts the way cupcake shops decorate cupcakes and serves as creative director alongside her father Michael Ji. A second shop opened in Lakewood on Abrams Road in 2018-2019.
