Frank Hanes, a former fine-dining chef in New York and San Francisco, and partner Leanna Carlson moved to the Flathead Valley and opened The Spot in a former Pizza Hut drive-thru on Woodland Park Drive in November 2020, filling what they saw as a gap in the local doughnut market.
