Baltimore-born entrepreneur Derrick Faulcon acquired and rebranded a Baltimore bakery as Cloudy Donut Co. in 2019, opening on Harford Road in 2020 and South Charles Street in 2021 before expanding to New York with shops in Brooklyn Heights and Nolita. In 2024 he closed both Baltimore storefronts to focus on the New York market; the Lauraville address now hosts pop-ups only.
