Founded in 1924 by Ernest and Mary Bloedow, moving to Broadway and Laird in 1925. Hugh and Mary Polus bought it in 2004-05 as the first non-family owners. The shop famously outlasted Krispy Kreme, which pulled out of Winona within two years in 2005, and was named Minnesota Retailers Association Retailer of the Year in 2024.
