Paielli's was founded in 1923 by Italian immigrant baker Sante Paielli and his wife Matilda, starting on 22nd Avenue and moving to 52nd Street before settling at 60th Street and 39th Avenue in 1956. The bakery marked its 100th anniversary in January 2023 and remains family-run, with Dino Paielli and his sons Mark and Dave leading it and a fourth generation joining. It employs about 70 people and bakes thousands of loaves daily for a 60-mile delivery radius.
