Clint and Dot 'Nana' Congdon opened a restaurant in Kennebunk in 1945; Nana and son-in-law Herb Brooks built the current Wells shop in 1955. Relatives Eleanor and Richard Leech took over in 1966, Gary and Diane Leech in 1984, and their daughter Jillian and son-in-law Chris Shomphe bought it in 2024.
