Reinhold Moehring opened the Lone Star Bakery on Round Rock's Main Street in 1926 and had perfected its signature doughnut by the early 1940s. Texas Monthly later named it the best doughnut in Texas, and Jan and Dale Cohrs, the bakery's sixth owners, have run it since 1978 from the West Liberty Avenue shop it moved to in 1970. A second store opened in Cedar Park in 2022.
