Donald and Barbara Warne opened the shop on Maple Avenue in Zanesville in 1960. Their son Tom Warne bought it with his cousin in 2007 and became sole owner in 2015, and his daughter Frances is now general manager, making it a third-generation family business. In June 2025 USA TODAY 10Best readers voted it the best donut shop in America. Production starts at 12:30 a.m. each day.
