Sachi Maclachlan, a former New York film-industry worker who moved to Hawaii in 2019, started Little Vessels Donut Co. out of her apartment during the pandemic, taking orders by Instagram DM; by 2021 the vegan yeasted doughnuts sold out every week through preorders picked up behind Kaimuki Superette. The business later moved to a kitchen and walk-up in Kaimuki.
