Opened in December 1964 on West 14th Street by Buzzy Geduld and his brother, who ran a handful of Manhattan donut shops before Geduld went back to Wall Street and kept this one as what he calls his good-luck charm. Customers still eat at the marble counter, and a second shop opened at Astor Place in 2019.
