The original Agnes' Portuguese Bake Shop operated in Kailua for nearly 50 years before closing in January 2018. Lifelong Kailua resident Ryan Katsuno bought the bakery's name and malasada recipe from former owner Non deMello and, after months of training, reopened it as a malasada truck in Kailua in summer 2020.
