Ly Touch, a former Cambodian embassy staffer in Washington who later ran a gas station, learned donut-making from relatives who run Howard's Donuts on Summer Avenue and took over the former Donald's Donuts space at 1776 Union Avenue in early 2019, opening it as Midtown Donuts.
