Known for: Glazed yeast doughnuts made from a recipe obtained from a Topeka, Kansas doughnut shop in 1946, plus cinnamon sticks, decorated cakes and Danish.

Founded September 5, 1946 by Jim (James R.) Sloop, wife Helen, and his sister Betty Sloop Atkins, inspired by Kansas doughnuts. Once had several High Point-area shops but consolidated to the North Centennial Street bakery, opened in 1986; now run by the family's third generation.
