Joseph and Elizabeth Davis opened Ches-Pen Donuts at 7th and Ford Streets in Bridgeport in 1955, moved to 49 E. Fourth Street in 1962 and renamed it for daughters Suzanne and Joanne. Joanne and husband Ray Barkmeyer ran it with their daughter and son-in-law, adding satellite shops in Royersford/Limerick (2004) and East Norriton (2015).
