Neil Bukowski quit his sales job after his 40th birthday, tired of the mediocre donuts that showed up at business meetings, and opened Neil's on North Turnpike Road in Wallingford in 2001. The family added a second shop in Middletown, and son Rob Bukowski now runs the business. Tasting Table has repeatedly named it Connecticut's best donut shop.
