Founded in 1952 by Domenico and Lucille Serpe on North Madison Street in Wilmington, the bakery moved to its current Kirkwood Highway home in Elsmere in 1964 and is now run by the third generation of the Serpe family; a Christmas Eve 2015 fire closed it until a 2016 reopening.
