Owners Dan Godwin and Rebecca Bullock Godwin began making doughnuts at home during the pandemic, delivering boxes to friends, and opened Empire Coffee & Donuts on Pre-Emption Road in Geneva in February 2023. The shop keeps a pay-it-forward board, donates leftover doughnuts to local charities and funds an annual scholarship for a graduating senior.
