Jinny Cho, a first-generation Korean American and UT Dallas alumna, opened Detour Doughnuts and Coffee in Frisco on July 11, 2018 with the goal of making a 'radically traditional' gourmet American doughnut. The shop's lineup changes monthly and it has been named among the standout doughnut shops of Dallas-Fort Worth by Texas Highways and the Dallas Morning News.
