The Fullerton shop dates to 1983 and carries the Christy's name started by Ted Ngoy, the Cambodian refugee known as the "Donut King," who named the shops after his wife and went on to sponsor and train many Cambodian families in the donut trade. Christy's once had about 85 shops; today only a handful keep the original signage, and the Fullerton shop on Euclid, now run by owner Setha, is described as the flagship that still draws loyal regulars.
