Known for: Scratch-made donuts and kolaches (roughly 60 varieties including Death by Blueberry, German chocolate cake, maple bacon and the Turtle) from a Rock Springs shop that competed on Food Network's Donut Showdown and was named MSN's best donut shop in Wyoming.

Cowboy Donuts was opened in Rock Springs in March 2011 by Derek Johnson and Jay Hammond, two entrepreneurs with no prior baking background; Johnson spent about fourteen months perfecting recipes before opening. After exposure at the 2012 National High School Finals Rodeo in Rock Springs, the shop was selected to compete on Food Network's Donut Showdown in 2013. Johnson received the SBA's 2014 Wyoming Young Entrepreneur of the Year award, and in 2016 SweetwaterNOW reported MSN had named Cowboy Donuts the best donut shop in Wyoming.
